Advanced Tissue Sciences ist ein Unternehmen mit Sitz in La Jolla, CA. Sie sind die Hersteller von Dermagraft-TC, einer künstlichen Haut, die aus gesammelten Vorhäuten von Neugeborenen-Beschneidungen hergestellt wird.[1] Sie sind zudem die Hersteller von NouriCel, einem anderen Produkt aus gesammelten Vorhäuten,[2] und einer der Hauptbestandteile von SkinMedicas Produkt TNS Recovery Complex.[3]

Einkünfte

Dermagraft-TC ist von der FDA zugelassen[4][5] und wird für ca. 3.000 US-Dollar pro Quadratfuß (ca. 929 Quadratzentimeter) verkauft, wobei eine Vorhaut genügend genetisches Material enthält, um 250.000 Quadratfuß Haut zu erzeugen.[6]

Advanced Tissue Sciences hat so erzeugte künstliche Haut im Wert von etwa 1 Million US-Dollar an Proctor & Gamble, Helene Curtis und andere Unternehmen verkauft, um sie vor dem Markteintritt zu testen. Die von Advanced Tissue Science hergestellte Ware aus Vorhaut hielt Anfang 1992 ein Aktienangebot von 32 Millionen US-Dollar.[7]

Allein 1996 konnte Advanced Tissue Sciences eine solide Marktkapitalisierungsleistung von 663,9 Mio. USD vorweisen.[8]
